R&C collection: Peplum...

The Peplum is so on trend at the moment so we decided to take the classic shape and put an R&C spin on it.
We started off with the basic pattern and we both new in our heads what we wanted to create, something uber stylish but quite classic aswell. With this is mind we automatically turned to lace which we found in connies grans attic (better than any fabric shop you will ever go to!). The red underneath adds that pop of colour and combines well with the lace.
We are delighted with the outcome and it is exactly what we wanted to create. We hope you guys like it to!

7 Reasons why we love... COMPANY MAGAZINE!

1. OUR STYLE:Company definitely includes our style. It is the only magazine where we would wear nearly all of the outfits. As well, the clothes are mostly affordable which is great as there's nothing worse than seeing an outfit you love and then realising it is way out of your price range.

2. LOOKS AMAZING ON DISPLAY:We are hoarders when it comes to magazines. But for company it is so worth it! The spine of company has a different pattern every month. I keep them stacked up in my room and they look so colourful and it adds a pop of colour to the room.

3. ITS A BARGAIN!:Company is only £2. This is one of the cheapest magazine's about. As students this is fab we both get it every month.

4. FITS IN YOUR BAG:I love small magazines. I tend to read mags when i am on the move or when I have free time when I'm out which is why it's great to be able to carry it about easily.

5. EASY TO READ :I love fashion and magazines like VOGUE and ELLE are brilliant don't get us wrong but when you're busy it is very difficult to find the motivation and time to read there long in-depth articles. Company has shorter articles which use plain English and they talk about fashion that actually relates to what you would wear every day.

6. GREAT FOR INSPIRATION:We both take A-Level Textiles and are always looking for ideas as well as wanting inspiration for this blog and the R&C collection. Company has great ideas for photography, layout, styling, writing and so much more!

7. THEY LOVE BLOGS: As bloggers we love looking at other blogs and finding out about blogging advice. There is normally always a mention of something blog related. This month was a blogging special! It had tonnes of brilliant advice and we discovered loads of new blogs. As well, it talked about creating a job out of blogging and how to make your blog successful. It was so exciting reading it and dreaming about it being us one day! So if you are thinking about starting a blog, definitely check it out.

R&C Collection: Oh so Audrey...

When i was given the brief of the 1950's I instantly thought about Audrey Hepburn. Anyone who know me knows i am obsessed with her. Thinking about it now i dont have the slightest idea where my love for her came from. Her style is effortless and screams elegance.

In the 1950's she worked with Hubert De Givenchy and they created some of the most beautiful pieces i have ever seen! I knew I wanted to do a black and white colour scheme because i wanted my dress to be simple and classic.

I used a black chiffon fabric which i found at my grans for the body of the fabric (my granny is like Mary Poppins, she has everything you could ever need!) The collar i got off a top i had got from New Look. I was very lucky in finding bargains for my dress. Overall it was very inexpensive to produce but it still had good quality.

I loved creating the dress and i remeber being quite upset when i had finished because i had enjoyed making it so much (i need to get a life!) I haven't worn it out yet but i cant wait till i do! I just hope that my skills as a seamstress are good enough and it remains intact till the end of the night :P

1 skirt 2 completely different styles

So as we said me and robyn have very different styles but we still like to share pieces and this is a perfect example of this! We took one skirt that we both really liked and created outfits that suited us individually! We got the skirt from Mad Lady clothing in the sale!

I paired the skirt with a white chiffon blouse from Miss Selfridge, a belt from new look and a pair of high knee socks from primark. The hat was an unexected find from sainsburys and was a bargain! This look is perfect for christmas as it is so cosy but still stylish:)

I paired this skirt with a black and white striped top from next, a staple leather jacket from new look and a pair of black ankle boots from topshop. This look is quite edgy and perfect for a night out where you dont have time to make to much effort. Rock and Roll :)
